When to call a PAR

4.5 Personnel Accountability Reporting (P.A.R.)

4.5.1 Incident Command should initiate a PAR when the following conditions exist:

i) Report of a lost or trapped fire fighter

ii) Strategy changes from an offensive to a defensive mode.

iii) When conditions such Flashover, Backdraft, Structural collapse, or Explosions occur.

iv) Every 20 minutes on scene.(* remember communications will update command every 10 mins onscene)

v) When it is reported the fire is under control.

vi) When the Incident Commander feels it is necessary.

vii) When any condition causes the Incident Commander, Safety Officer, or Accountability Officer to be concerned for the safety or location of personnel.
